Employed Wabi Sabi aesthetics, Japanese metaphor and some creative double-problem solving solutions in this Highland Park Sushi Restaurant.
2 custom 6x6’ paintings representing “the fig” Since “ichijiku” means “fig” in Japanese, I simply pulled the colors from a fig’s interior and exterior and exploded them, with delicate care, onto these two hand stretched panels. The panels solved a secondary problem of acoustic baffles for the restaurant.
